About the Artist

MC Kirwan graduated with a Fashion Degree from The Limerick School of Art and Design, County Limerick, Ireland in 2006. After graduation she relocated to London and spent the intervening years working in fashion while travelling the world.

A surfing accident in early 2019 resulted in a life changing back injury. She initially picked up her paint brush to escape the chronic unrelenting pain. It blossomed into something much more.

The challenge was to rewire her brain away from pain to a place of harmony. MC's abstract expressionism is an exploration of colour, space, shapes and feelings. She now creates for joy and pleasure.

MC paints from her floating house boat studio on the river Thames in central London.

MC has stated that achieving moments of happiness mentally and physically is the biggest success in life. This is a journey that is ongoing for every human in a turbulent world. “I hope when a viewer sees my work, they will be struck by momentary joy”.

MC continues her work within art direction for select beauty and fashion clients.
